You want your child to be happy

AND TYPICAL, JUST LIKE THE REST.

But you notice that something is off and your gut tells you that you need to take action now. You can’t help but compare and notice that your child isn’t acting like other kids - and this leaves you worried. More than anything, you want them to be independent, happy and free to be who they want to be.

BUT, LET'S BE HONEST HERE

Are you scared to admit that your child ‘has something’ because if you do, it will become real?

Is your gut telling you that waiting until your kid is older to act is not the right choice for your family?

Are you frustrated with dealing with your child, and feel like the situation is out of control?

Does it drive you crazy that everyone around you keeps on diminishing your concerns?

Do you often feel like a terrible parent, and keep on questioning if you did something wrong?

Do you feel scared and don’t know how to deal with this situation or where to look for help?

If your gut is right,

you need to take action as soon as you can.

The sooner you intervene, the better rate of success your child will have. You want your child to be healthy and happy - and able to relate with their peers as they develop socially, cognitively and emotionally. To see them finally let go of that frustration of not being able to communicate or explain themselves to others. After all, you understand that it’s not them acting spoiled or throwing a tantrum just because - there’s more to this, and you can do more.

You don't have to do this alone.

I have worked with hundreds of families over the years and I know that there are a lot of prejudices around exceptionalities that can be a hard pill to swallow. Intellectual disabilities can be very difficult for others to understand because, at times, they are not even seen. This is why it’s imperative to have an empathic helper by your side guiding you in such a sensitive, and important matter. At the end of the day, your kids and their wellbeing is your most valued treasure, and you need someone by your side that can help you address disrupting behavior and help close the gap as fast as you can.

LEARN THE

early signs

Although every child develops at their own pace, reaching milestones by age is our screening tool to know whether or not our kids are developing properly. By knowing where the gap is  through their chronological and developmental age, we can set goals to help them catch up with their peers.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Identify general milestones by age and recognize which one your child isn't reaching.
✔ Set routines, and goals for the age appropriate milestones to be reached.

UNCOVER THEIR

strengths & weaknesses

There are different developmental areas or categories where milestones fall into. We follow 7 types of specific taxonomies which are crucial for your child's developmental progress. These are: Cognition, Language & Communication, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Sensory, Feeding & Swallowing, and Emotional Intelligence.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Recognize the strengths and weaknesses of your chid and create a plan to work on improving and maintaining the necessary skills needed for success.
✔ Acquire better knowledge of the different developmental areas and identify with child's strengths and weaknesses with the intention of improving.

DISCOVER THEIR

learning style

The focus on learning styles comes from Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence research. We all experience the world in unique ways, and with that comes variation in the ways we learn best. We focus on understanding where your child thrives the most through identifying their learning style, and whether they are: Word Smart, Logic Smart, Body Smart, Visual Smart, Music Smart, Nature Smart and/or People Smart.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Pinpoint how your child leads so that they can connect with the topics you're teaching, as well as how they participate best with others.
✔ Help reduce your child's anxiety and frustration related to learning situations which will help to significantly improve their performance.

CLOSE THE GAP

through learning

We focus on 4 core traditional subjects to work on: Literacy, Numerical-Logical, Social Studies and Science & Technology. Additionally, we bring in Art and added Daily Living Skills such as Kindness and Manners to help foster independence and interpersonal social relations.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Foster your child's interaction and knowledge as they improve their developmental areas as well as acquiring knowledge on the different core subjects.
✔ Once we are clear with their age group, developmental area, weakness & strengths, learning style and subjects, we will be able to come up with a specific, personalized, action plan for them.

UNCOVER THEIR

best therapy style

We will uncover the best type of therapy style that will go hand-in-hand with the deep processes we will be going through in order to ensure your child's progress. These will be focused on: Behavior Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Play-Based Therapy, and/or Nutritional Therapy.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ We will focus on developmental delays and improve their skills in each area through therapy-based methodologies and strategies.
✔ Develop a therapy plan or Plan of Care that can also include guidance of State free services, insurance-based services or out-of-pocket services.

DISCOVER THE

cause of behavior

Understanding and being able to replace disruptive and maladaptive behaviors begins with finding their functions. Behavior Analysis literature describes 4 functions, we expanded on these more, focusing on these specific topographic functions: Attention, Access Tangible, Access Edible, Access Sensation, Escape, Avoidance and Sensory.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Finally uncover the specific functions that are causing your child's behaviors.
✔ Develop a plan to be able to replace behaviors and find the right function which is causing the behavior in the first place.

IMPROVE THEIR

disruptive behavior

Define your child's behavior topographically by being able to uncover the antecedent. We focus on: Tantrums, Aggression, Self-Injury, Refusal, Mouthing, Off-task, Stereotypical. You will be able to identify and understand the most common behaviors and learn techniques to be able to reduce them.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Establish consequences and develop methods to reduce their behavior frequency as you replace skills while using DDT (Discrete Trial Training).
✔ Become an expert at reducing disruptive behaviors as you watch your child to feel happier and more secure.

This means that you will:

✔ Finally see and live what’s possible for your child as you uncover different possibilities

✔ Feel confident in who you are as a parent as you learn how to help your child

✔ Improve your communication with your kid and within your family ecosystem

✔ Help your child develop more academically and get them prepared for school

✔ Develop a profound understanding of your child and how their brain works

✔ Finally feel confident to leave the house while anticipating triggers so that you can avoid tantrums and meltdowns

✔ Watch your child progress and close the gap so that they can begin their formal school years by age 5.
